January 2, Kim Kisik Inaugurated as the 3rd President of the National Assembly Futures Institute

 The National Assembly Futures Institute held an inauguration ceremony for its third president, Kim Kisik, on January 2 at the National Assembly Members’ Office Building.

The ceremony began with the national pledge and the singing of the national anthem, followed by a moment of silence for the victims of the recent air disaster. Conducted in a simple and modest format, the event proceeded to a staff roundtable following President Kim’s inaugural address.

In his address, President Kim stated that Korea is currently facing an era of profound structural challenges—“internationally, the nation is exposed to an environment of fierce competition among countries amid trends of post-neoliberalism and deglobalization; and domestically, it is confronting political, economic, and social crises along with rapid demographic shifts driven by low birth rates and population aging.”

He emphasized that the National Assembly Futures Institute must prepare strategies to address these internal and external structural crises facing the Republic of Korea.

President Kim also pledged that the institute would make its utmost efforts to build a foundation for national, social, and political consensus in order to overcome these challenges.

Following the inauguration, a staff roundtable was held to share President Kim’s vision for the institute’s management and to gather feedback and opinions from the staff.​ ​ ​
